Unatoč naslovu i nježnoj naslovnici, Baš ljubav nije romantična priča koja će vam ugrijati srce. Štoviše Baš ljubav je roman o nedostatku ljubavi. Ako ste već čitali talijanske autore ovoga žanra, ništa vas ovdje neće osobito iznenaditi, ali će vas natjerati da zastanete, da osjetite stezanje u prsima, knedlu u grlu i možda koju sasvim tihu suzu.
Očekivano dobar roman, nije me oborio s nogu, ali me je, baš kao i većina talijanskih autora ovoga stila, natjerao na razmišljanje: o životnim okolnostima, o sudbinama koje nosimo od rođenja, o tome možemo li uopće pobjeći onome što nam je namijenjeno.
Volim takve romane. Volim njihovu kratkoću, a istodobno snagu koju ostavljaju iza sebe.

Despite the title and the gentle cover, So People Know It’s Me is not a romantic story that will warm your heart. Moreover, So People Know It’s Me is a novel about the lack of love. If you have already read Italian authors of this genre, nothing here will particularly surprise you, but it will make you pause, feel a tightness in your chest, a lump in your throat, and perhaps a quiet tear.
As expected, a good novel, it didn’t knock me off my feet, but, just like most Italian authors of this style, it made me think: about life’s circumstances, about the destinies we carry from birth, about whether we can even escape what is destined for us.
I love such novels. I love their brevity, and at the same time the strength they leave behind.
