Već neko vrijeme petkom prakticiram brigu o sebi ili #selfcare i tada se potrudim stvoriti sebi ugodne trenutke uz nešto što volim, što me ispunjava i što je dobro za mene. U sklopu toga vam i želim preporučiti ovu knjigu.
„Ako nemate vremena za vježbanje, kako ćete naći vremena za bolest? Nikad nećete naći vremena za zdravlje; morate stvoriti vrijeme za to. Mislite da ste prezaposleni da biste išli u teretanu? Što vaše vrijeme provedeno pred zaslonom mobitela govori o tome?“
Zauvijek snažni donosi vam vrlo jasan pregled razloga zašto je vježbanje važno, koje su važnosti zdrave prehrane bazirane na proteinima, svježem voću i povrću te kako poboljšati svoje cjelokupno zdravlje.
Na vrlo jasan način autorica objašnjava svoje ideje pod imenom Protokol Lyon i potkrepljuje ih znanstvenim člancima. Nisam nutricionist niti sam ikada proučavala prehranu pa se ne bih upuštala u raspravu o tom dijelu knjige, ali u jednome se apsolutno slažem s autoricom: sva ova prerađena i lako dostupna hrana našem tijelu i zdravlju sigurno ne čini dobro.
Godinama sam u sportu i vježbanju i drago mi je da se kod ljudi pokušava osvijestiti činjenica da je za zdravlje potrebna kombinacija zdrave prehrane i vježbanja.

Uz planove prehrane, vježbanja i pregršt recepata ova knjiga idealan je početak u smjeru zdravijeg života. Moja jedina zamjerka je nedostatak slika uz vježbe, koje iako su vrlo detaljno objašnjene mislim da bi bile još jednostavnije uz slikovni prikaz.

For some time now, I have been practicing #selfcare on Fridays when I try to create pleasant moments for myself with something that I love, that fulfills me and that is good for me. As part of that, I want to recommend this book to you.
“If you don’t have time to exercise, how will you find time to be sick? You will never find time for health; you have to make time for it. Think you’re too busy to hit the gym? What does your time spent in front of a cell phone screen say about that?”
Forever Strong brings you a very clear overview of why exercise is important, the importance of a healthy diet based on protein, fresh fruits and vegetables, and how to improve your overall health.
In a very clear way, the author explains her ideas under the name Lyon Protocol and supports them with scientific articles. I’m not a nutritionist, nor have I ever studied nutrition, so I wouldn’t get into a discussion about that part of the book, but I absolutely agree with the author on one thing: all this processed and easily available food is certainly not good for our body and health.
I have been involved in sports and exercise for years and I am glad that people are trying to become aware of the fact that health requires a combination of a healthy diet and exercise.
“You cannot replace a bad diet with training.”
With diet and exercise plans and a handful of recipes, this book is an ideal start to a healthier life. My only complaint is the lack of pictures with the exercises, which, although they are explained in great detail, I think would be even simpler with a picture.
