Jedna od najtraženijih knjiga ovog Interlibera, Bilo jednom slomljeno srce, privukla je i moju pažnju još 2021., ali kao i uvijek toliko knjiga, a tako malo vremena i jednostavno nije došla na red. 😊
U središtu priče je Evangeline Fox, djevojka koja vjeruje u ljubav i u ono bajkovito „živjeli su sretno do kraja života“. No njezin se svijet raspada kad sazna da se ljubav njezina života ženi drugom… i to njezinom polusestrom. U očaju sklapa dogovor s opasnim i neodoljivim Princem Srca, kojem zauzvrat obeća tri poljupca. Ali ubrzo shvaća da u ovom svijetu poljupci nikada nisu samo poljupci…
Moram priznati da me prva polovica knjige nije dojmila onoliko koliko sam očekivala. Možda je do mojih godina, možda do činjenice da sam paralelno čitala Alchemised, ali nedostajalo mi je ozbiljnosti, a radnja se činila kao da autorica tek traži pravi smjer.
A onda sam posljednjih 120 stranica pročitala u dahu! Puno je više akcije, intriga i zaokreta, a kemija između Evangeline i Jacksa toliko je opipljiva da odmah poželiš nastavak. I da, zbog toga ću definitivno nastaviti čitati trilogiju.
Ovo je bajkovit, maštovit roman pun likova iz priča koje volimo, idealan za mlađe čitatelje i sve koji vole dašak magije, romantike i misterija.
Bilo jednom slomljeno srce prvi je dio trilogije, a ostali prijevodi srećom stižu već ovog proljeća. 💗

One of the most sought-after books at this Interliber, Once Upon a Broken Heart, caught my attention back in 2021, but as always, so many books, so little time, and I never got to reading it. 😊
The story centers on Evangeline Fox, a girl who believes in love and the fairytale “they lived happily ever after”. But her world falls apart when she finds out that the love of her life is marrying someone else…her half-sister. In desperation, she makes a deal with the dangerous and irresistible Prince of Hearts, to whom she promises three kisses in return. But she soon realizes that in this world, kisses are never just kisses…
I have to admit that the first half of the book didn’t impress me as much as I expected. Maybe it’s my age, maybe it’s the fact that I was reading Alchemised at the same time, but it lacked seriousness, and the plot seemed like the author was just looking for the right direction.
And then I read the last 120 pages in one breath! There’s a lot more action, intrigue, and twists, and the chemistry between Evangeline and Jacks is so palpable that you immediately want a sequel. And yes, that’s why I’ll definitely continue reading the trilogy.
This is a fairy-tale, magical novel full of characters from stories we love, ideal for YA readers and anyone who loves a touch of magic, romance, and mystery.
Once Upon a Heartbreak is the first part of a trilogy, and the other translations are fortunately coming this spring. 💗
