“…kroz naš um prolazi mnoštvo stvari. Misli jednostavno postoje.

Kratka, ugodna i uvijek dobrodošla.

Think Straight – Darius Foroux

“…a multitude of things pass through our minds. Thoughts simply exist. There is nothing we can do to change that. However, since we have free will, we can decide which thoughts we focus on… It makes the difference between ‘I can’t help it, this is how I feel’ and ‘I feel this way because I have chosen to feel this way.’

The emphasis is on the decision. With practice, you can become better at managing your thoughts so that you can decide what to think.”

This is one of those books that are best read with a morning coffee. It will not reveal unknown truths about life, but it will remind you of things you already know and have somehow forgotten along the way. That is precisely why it feels so refreshing, calming, and useful.

Our minds are filled with thoughts every single day, and according to Foroux, as many as 99% of them are completely useless. How much energy do we spend on worries, assumptions, and scenarios that never come true? We burden both our minds and bodies with thoughts that are unnecessary, inaccurate, and bring us no benefit. In Think Straight, the author uses a simple, direct, and very clear approach to show how we can better manage our thoughts and refocus on what truly matters.

For me, this book is like a good cup of coffee: short, enjoyable, and always welcome. I am certain I will return to it whenever I need a gentle reminder to slow down and think more clearly.

Thanks to the publisher!
