Death on the Nile – Agatha Christie

What happens when a luxury Nile cruise becomes the scene of a crime?

Death on the Nile, published in 1937, is one of Agatha Christie’s most famous novels, inspired by her travels in Egypt. It is also one of Poirot’s most famous cases and has been adapted for the screen several times. This classic of the cosy crime genre brings everything we love about Christie – the brilliant Poirot, complex relationships and of course, murders to solve.

Where there is Hercule Poirot, there is murder – or maybe the other way around?

This time, the world-famous detective finds himself in the middle of a love triangle, jealousy and intrigue that culminates in the murder of the young and wealthy heiress Linnet Ridgeway. Poirot, of course, cannot resist the challenge…

Agatha Christie’s crime novels are a special treat for me, and since I discovered how much I enjoy cosy crime, I have come to appreciate her style even more. I love to curl up under a blanket and investigate crimes with a cup of tea or chocolate – without too much blood, but with plenty of intrigue.

Death on the Nile has something for everyone – love drama, scandal, betrayal, financial fraud, intrigue and, of course, murder. As I read, I developed several theories about the killer and was tempted to peek at the last few pages to find out “who dunnit”. I’m glad I didn’t – it was much more fun this way!

A huge recommendation from me of course!
