“The urgency of old age. There’s nothing that makes you feel more alive than the certainty of death.”

Meni osobno jedan od najdražih serijala, pogotovo u ovoj kategoriji cosy mysteryja još jednom me zabavio i oduševio.

“There’s always something just out of reach. . . . Everyone chasing the thing they don’t have. Going mad until they get it.”

The Last Devil to Die – Richard Osman

The cheerful and curious foursome are with us again and this time they are not resting but are busy finding the killer of their friend and investigating some other crimes along the way. This time in a slightly sadder and more emotional version, which actually only made them even closer to my heart.

Personally, one of my favorite series, especially in this cosy mystery category, once again entertained and delighted me. A former nurse, a former spy, a former trade unionist and a psychiatrist who still works from time to time are the perfect company and ideal ingredients for an exciting and entertaining story. In the fourth installment of the series, everything is there: a bit of crime, a bit of tea, a bit of joy, a bit of sadness, a bit of life, a bit of justice and a bit of good old British humour which I just love.

It was very difficult for me to part with the book, and when I turned the last page, I frantically searched for information on whether and when there would be a sequel, because I’m really not ready to say goodbye to this lovely quartet. And even though we’ll have to wait a bit for the sequel, it’s important that there will be one! Until then, I eagerly await the adaptation with a phenomenal cast. And I am also looking forward to the new book written by the excellent Richard Osman.
