“The best place to enjoy a stormy night is in a warm room with a book in your lap.”
Privukla me naslovnicom i intrigantnim opisom, a zadržala me predivnim stilom pisanja, originalnom pričom i likovima koje sam zavoljela od prve stranice.
Brza, uzbudljiva, emotivna – ova knjiga me potpuno uvukla u svoj svijet.
“I’ve read it before, but as I get older, I find comfort in rereading favorites. It’s like spending time with old friends.”

“Happiness is not something you sit and wait for. You have to choose it and pursue it in spite of everything else. It’s not going to be given to you.”
The Book of Doors – Gareth Brown
Cassie Andrews and Izzy Cattaneo lead a completely ordinary life in New York City – until Mr. Webber, one of Cassie’s favourite customers, passes away at the bookstore where she works. He leaves behind a mysterious book with the inscription: “This is the Book of Doors. Hold it in your hand, and any door is every door.” From that moment on, Cassie and Izzy embark on incredible journeys around the world, unaware of the dangers and wonders that await them.
The Book of Doors is a magical book about magical books – its atmosphere reminded me of some of my favourite titles like The Night Circus, Babel and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. It drew me in with its cover and intriguing description, and kept me with its wonderful writing style, original story and characters that I loved from the first page.
Cassie, Izzy, Drummond, Lund, Mr. Webber… all of them are characters that I loved from the first page, that I cheered for and that I would stand by no matter what decisions they made.
Fast-paced, exciting, emotional – this book completely sucked me into its world. More than 400 pages flew by in a flash, and the idea of books with special powers left me daydreaming: which book would I choose, if given a choice?
The Book of Doors is a story about friendship, loyalty, power and responsibility, about time travel and the consequences of our choices. Fans of fantasy and time-travel should definitely give it a chance.
“Don’t waste your life hidden away in your own mind. Make the most of the time you have, otherwise before you know it, you’ll have no time left.”
