“You only have to forgive once. To resent, you have to do it all day, every day. You have to keep remembering all the bad things.”
Predivan roman. Divno napisan, zanimljiv, životan i prepun emocija.

The Light Between Oceans – M.L. Stedman
The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman is a novel about two very good people and one very bad decision.
Set on the coast of Western Australia in the 1920s, it follows Tom and Izzy, a young married couple whose greatest wish, having a child, never seems to come true. Then one day, a boat washes ashore on their tiny island carrying a dead man and a baby…
What a beautiful novel. Beautifully written, engaging, realistic, and filled with emotion. It’s a story packed with moral dilemmas that stay with you both while you’re reading and long after you’ve turned the final page. Even now, several weeks after finishing it, I still don’t know what I would have done.
I found myself torn between Tom and Izzy, between their decisions and the choices they made. One moment I was on his side, the next on hers, although in the end my heart leaned a little more toward Tom. Before I even realized it, Stedman had pulled me into a morally grey area, both as a woman and as a mother. And to be completely honest, I’m still not sure what I would do if I were in their place.
The Light Between Oceans reminded me of the novels of Kristin Hannah, but for me this story is deeper, more powerful, and even more emotionally impactful.
A huge recommendation from me, and a big thank you to the publisher for this unforgettable reading experience.
