“She doesn’t always like the new versions of herself, but they help her understand the edges of who she might be.”

💭 Otpisujemo li ljude zbog sitnica?

Biramo li i mi prečesto bijeg umjesto borbe?

The Husbands – Holly Gramazio

Imagine that every time your husband annoys you, you simply send him to the attic… and within seconds, a brand new husband comes down the stairs. Sounds crazy, right?

Lauren’s life changes in an instant – she literally steps into a new reality. In that reality, she has a husband she’s never met before. But she soon realizes that the real problem isn’t this “new husband”, but each subsequent one that appears when the previous one goes to the attic. Lauren finds herself in a whirlwind of choices, doubts and decisions that change everything…

I have a feeling that this book has gone under the radar in our country, while it has received much more attention in foreign bookstores. It’s a shame, because the idea and execution are really very good. It immediately caught my attention with its unusual description.

A little bit of love, a little bit of magical realism, a dose of imagination and reality – the result is a fun, suspenseful novel that not only entertains us, but also makes us stop and think:

💭 Do we make life decisions lightly?

💭 Do we give up as soon as we encounter an obstacle?

💭 Do we write people off for little things?

I wonder – where has compromise gone? Where has the effort we once put into relationships gone?

Do we too often choose flight over fight?
