A sad jedno nepopularno mišljenje – Evelyn me nije oduševila.
Iako mi Great Big Beautiful Life nije najdraža, ispunila je moja očekivanja. Početak je slabiji – više me zanimao odnos Alice i Haydena nego sama priča Margaret Ives. No zadnjih sto stranica? Mogla bih ih čitati opet i opet i opet. Tu sam osjetila onu emociju, onu zaljubljenost koju mi njezine knjige znaju probuditi.

Great Big Beautiful Life – Emily Henry
Alice Scott and Hayden Anderson are writers competing for the chance to write a biography of Margaret Ives – a tragic heiress, former tabloid princess and daughter of one of the most famous (and scandalous) families of the 20th century. A month of writing together will transform their lives into something completely unexpected…
This was one of the most anticipated books of the year for me. Who would have thought that I would love an author whose first book I read didn’t suit me at all? (I’m planning on rereading it these days!) After a long wait, some loved it, while for others it is just a wannabe The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. And now an unpopular opinion – Evelyn didn’t wow me. I know, shocker! I had fun but I forgot about it a month later.
Emily Henry has become very close to my heart. I love her style, the characters and the stories she creates. Although Great Big Beautiful Life is not my favorite, it met my expectations. The beginning is a bit weak – I was more interested in the relationship between Alice and Hayden than the story of Margaret Ives itself. But the last hundred pages? I could read them over and over again. That’s where I felt that emotion, that magic, that infatuation that her books can awaken in me.
It didn’t dethrone Funny Story, but it still gets my recommendation.
